Don Curtis Christensen

April 17, 1940 — November 20, 2024

Kelso, WA

Don Curtis Christensen, of Kelso, WA, died on November 20, 2024 at the age of 84.

Don is survived by his wife, Jacq Christensen, two children, Shannon Hemrich and Rhea Grover, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Ann Mulholland, and brothers John Christensen and Robert Christensen.

He was born in Trenton, New Jersey on April 17, 1940. Don married Jacqueline Kay Hatt on May 5, 1967. During their marriage they raised two children while living in Seattle and then Longview, WA. He retired from his career as an insurance agent 22 years ago, and 5 years ago they moved to Kelso, WA.

Don enjoyed jazz music, travel, Starbucks, watching baseball, spending time with friends and family, cookies and ice cream, playing the trombone, and taking his wife to the yarn store.

He was our husband, father, grandfather, and friend. We saw him as kind, generous, full of life, silly, but serious when he needed to be, thoughtful, moral, adventurous, and a best friend. To his final moments, Don remained as he always wished to be, an active participant in life.

There will be a memorial service for Don on December 14, 2024 at 11:00am. This will be held at Kelso First United Methodist Presbyterian Church (206 Cowlitz Way, Kelso, WA 98626).
