Donald LeRoy Paul Miller, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 1st. Don was born in Seattle to Louise Gentile and Donald LeRoy Miller, and was the eldest of four children. He was educated at Mount Virgin and Saint Mary's Parochial Schools, Seattle Preparatory School (1955) and Seattle University (1959), where he joined the US Army ROTC, and met his wife, Patricia Alice Carlson. He earned an MBA in 1980 from City College. Don and Patti married in 1958 and moved to Federal Way, where they became long-time residents. Don enjoyed being an active member of the Federal Way community and multiple organizations. Most notably, Don was a founding member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Don was active in parish life including singing in the choir, Eucharistic Ministry, Parish Council, and Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight in 2017-2018. Don was also a member of the Federal Way Historical Society, Alpha Singers, GM I-5 Car Club and Kiwanis, where he was a past president and lieutenant governor. Elected in 1983, Don served as Commissioner for the Lakehaven Utility District until his passing. He had numerous hobbies and was devoted to his faith and family. He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Miller of Federal Way, and their children John (Julia) of Orting, Robert (Pam) of Glendale, AZ, James (Laura) of Buena Park, CA, Joseph of Tacoma, Stephanie of Tacoma, Andrew (Rachel) of Tacoma, and Catherine Roy (Michael) of Sammamish, along with 22 grandchildren and 18+ great-grandchildren. He is laid to rest at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery. He was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered.
